Cookies and other tracking software
Third-party service providers and we use cookies and other tracking software, such as web beacons, tags, etc. (collectively, “cookies”) on the GOIN’s platform. Cookies are tiny pieces of data that are attached to your device browser by website owners when you access their websites. We use cookies for different purposes, including without limitation, to tailor content, gather analytics, save your login information, remember your session, secure the GOIN’s platform, and tailor adverts based on your interest. Likewise, certain third-party service providers use cookies to perform the task we hire them to perform (for example, Google sets its cookies when we use their tools).
We may use “session” and “persistent” cookies. Session cookies are cookies that automatically expire when you close your browser after a browsing session. Persistent cookies, on the other hand, are cookies that expire on set durations – usually longer than a session.
You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You can do this through your browser settings, tools, or help sections. However, if you remove, reject, or delete cookies, some of the features that make your site experience more efficient may not function properly.
How we may disclose personal information
GOIN’ is not in the business of selling, renting, or buying personal information to or from third parties for profit. We do not share personal information unless it is under the below circumstances.
Transit agencies, brokers, healthcare and membership services organizations: We work with organizations that subsidize and facilitate services such as rides to individuals that meet their determination and settings of eligibility. They often enter information from their clients, patients or riders to facilitate the services and monitor them for compliance and satisfaction.
Third-party service providers: We may use third-party service providers to perform certain tasks on our behalf, including, without limitation, payment processing, email sending, and app distribution. We will share the applicable information with the relevant third-party service provider to perform the task they are hired for. For example, our email sender (if any) may have access to your email address in order to send you our newsletters.
Third-party ride providers and drivers: GOIN’ serves ride service providers by providing them with a platform to monitor their platform. We may share information about you with the applicable ride service provider if you use their services. Likewise, if you book a ride through the GOIN’s platform, the applicable driver will have access to your profile information such as a Shared Provider Note, locations requested and location notes and other information necessary to provide you with a ride.
Ad and analytics partners: We may work with third parties who help us gather analytics and display our adverts to you on their websites or apps. We may use cookies to gather information about your interests and choices and share it with these partners to enable them to help us with marketing our products to you on their platforms based on the information we have shared with them. See section 9 for more about advertising.
Other companies during a business transfer: Other companies – in the event of a business transfer – may have access to your information. Business transfers may include a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, and consolidation between GOIN’ and another entity.
Law enforcement requests: To the extent applicable law permits, we may share information about you with any law enforcement agency or institution in the event of a legal request, court order, or subpoena in relation to any claims, crime, or lawsuit affecting you, GOIN’, or any third-party. We may also share information about you with law enforcement if it involves protecting our intellectual property rights or those of other users.
Third parties at your request: With your express request, we may share personal information about you with any third party you have directed us.
How we protect personal information
The GOIN’s platform is scanned regularly for security holes and known vulnerabilities to make your visit as safe as possible.
We use regular Malware Scanning. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks. It is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit card information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and is available only to our payment processors.
We implement a variety of security measures when users enter, submit, or access their information to maintain the safety of such personal information. All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.
We will always do our best and employ sophisticated and up-to-date technological and human safeguards regarding the protection of personal information; however, we cannot guarantee that this will be possible all the time due to the nature of the internet. We cannot guarantee that only authorized persons will have access to personal information.
Third-party services
Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include third-party services, adverts, content, or links on the GOIN’s platform. These third-party services have separate and independent privacy policies. We, therefore, have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked third-party services. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of the GOIN’s platform and welcome any feedback about these third-party services.
Interest-based advertising
Google: Google’s advertising requirements can be summed up by Google’s Advertising Principles. They are put in place to provide a positive experience for users. https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/1316548?hl=en
We use Google AdSense Advertising on the GOIN’s platform. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on the GOIN’s platform. Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our users based on previous visits to the GOIN’s platform and other websites on the internet. Users may opt out of using the DART cookie by visiting the Google Ad and Content Network privacy policy.
Demographics and Interests Reporting: We, along with third-party vendors, such as Google, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) or other third-party identifiers together to compile data regarding user interactions with ad impressions and other ad service functions as they relate to the GOIN’s platform.
Opting out: You can set preferences for how Google advertises to you using the Google Ad Settings page. Alternatively, you can opt out by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative Opt Out page or using the Google Analytics Opt Out Browser add-on.
Do Not Track signals
Under the California Online Privacy Policy Act (“CalOPPA”), a Do Not Track signal (“DNT”) is a feature on websites that allows website users to indicate their online activities not to be tracked by website owners. We honor DNT and do not track, plant cookies, or use advertising when a DNT browser mechanism is in place.
COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)
When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under 13 years of age, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, United States’ consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online. GOIN’ does not specifically market to children under 13 years of age. By using the GOIN’s platform, you represent that you are 13 years of age or above.
CAN-SPAM Act (Email marketing)
The CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.
We collect your email address in order to:
-
Send information, respond to inquiries, and/or other requests or questions;
-
Process rides and send information and updates pertaining to rides; and
-
Market to you based on what we think matches your interest.
To be in accordance with CAN-SPAM, we agree to the following:
-
Not use false or misleading subjects or email addresses.
-
Identify the message as an advertisement in some reasonable way.
-
Include the physical address of our business or website headquarters.
-
Monitor third-party email marketing services for compliance if one is used.
-
Honor opt-out/unsubscribe requests quickly.
-
Allow users to unsubscribe by using the link at the bottom of each email.
If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving email newsletters from GOIN’, please follow the instructions at the bottom of any email newsletter sent to you by GOIN’.
Retention period of personal information
GOIN’ will only retain personal information on the GOIN’s platform for as long it needs it. When you exercise your right of deletion (account deletion), we will delete personal information about you to the extent possible or permitted by applicable law. Please, note that we may retain certain information about you, such as the record of transactions and IP address, for longer periods in compliance with our record-keeping obligations or for the enforcement of our Terms and Conditions. Also, certain personal information posted in public areas, such as reviews and comments, may be retained on the GOIN’s platform.
International transfer of information
GOIN’ is a United States company. If you are using the GOIN’s platform and submitting personal information from outside of the United States, your information will be processed in the United States. Likewise, we may use third-party service providers who may process personal information in the United States and elsewhere. These third-party service providers’ laws may not have the same data privacy laws as that of the country you are located. However, when you submit personal information to us in the United States, we will handle it as described in this privacy policy.
If you are using the GOIN’s platform from locations under the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) or countries with similar laws, including the EEA, EU, UK, and Brazil, we will only transfer personal information about you outside your territory in accordance with the approved data transfer mechanisms by your privacy laws. These mechanisms may include, without limitation, using approved Standard Contractual Clauses by the European Commission and similar bodies.
